Atheism commercial
I like how people think they can actually rid the world of religion. You might as well rid the world of humans. You might could get rid of Christianity but something else would eventually come along and replace it. To me the whole reason John says Imagine there is no religion is because you have to imagine. Ohh and Religion does not equal war, humans do. We naturally group up and ostracize others. Just ask the meerkats. Oh and I guess our other primate relatives.
As far as atheism and ideology is concerned I would say that it is not one. However it is very short from being one. All it needs is ritual and for atheists to unite under a weekly meeting. Not to mention to try and persuade non-atheists to join.
Life is shit fellas. And as much as I would like a perfect world without violence of any kind it will never happen. Just us much as others would love a perfect world without religion. I guess will have to just imagine.

On Atheism (Blog Entry by dag)
I think religion is hard wired like our ability to communicate. As rational as atheism is to me there is always something that pulls me back and tells me there has to be something else other than this life I have. Whether or not thats my instincts or not is not important. It's my perception and becomes my reality.

Heres what I do believe. If there is a god he is not a vengeful one thats irrational to me. I believe were here to become something more than what we were born. If there is a god I don't believe he cares how we get there.

I don't believe in hell. Worse case scenario I die and there is a hell I guess Ill go there and have all my lovely videosift friends there to enjoy it with. Muh ha ha!

I wouldn't worry too much about it though, if there is a god he will welcome us all on the other side.

Many sifters are extremists when talking about religion (Religion Talk Post)
I dont mind the atheist videos at all. Im more of a middle of the road man myself. Its the belittlement of others that irritates me. The comments that a lot of people post in the videos almost seam instigative. Every time I see one I think of Germany. Oh and when I did attend church I was preached that one day people of religion would be persecuted to an extent that they would be hunted down and executed. Then again Im usually over emotional so I know my views are biased and over-exaggerated. So Ill leave it at this one quote that sums it all up for me.
